Merseyside Police is appealing for the public's help to trace a 25-year-old man from Birkenhead who is wanted on recall to prison.

Joseph Michael Lane was sentenced to 28 months in prison in January 2015 after being convicted of attempted burglary which took place on 6 December 2014. He was released on licence on 29 June 2016.

Lane is wanted by officers after he failed to comply with his license release conditions and was recalled to prison on 16 September 2016.

Extensive efforts have been made by the police to find him but he remains outstanding and officers are requesting the public's help to find him.

Lane is described as white, 5ft 4in tall, with brown eyes, and short black hair.

Anyone who has seen Lane, or who knows of his whereabouts, is asked to call Merseyside Police on the 101 number. People with information can also contact Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
